Kites

who doesn't love kites?! I think they are so much fun and probably the coolest thing ever created besides chocolate.

anyway back on topic.

get a kite, the dollar store sells them. or you could make your own. I have no idea how to make them and I am so sorry....I am so so sorry.

any way then with your store bought or handmade kites.....you store them in an airtight room and look at them forever.

just kidding. you fly them silly, thats what you do with kites ;)

Dating with the International Diplomacy Guidebook

So, a while ago, in like.....September of last year I think my grandmother took us to a Blue Man Group concert which was incredible. and they had this up and i especially love the last bit and i think it can apply to dating....easily it can apply to dating.

date ideas that go along with this would be:

• Making a meal together, or serving somewhere. like a soup kitchen.
• Create a different spin on a favorite recipe.
• painting. ask someone you know who is a painter and ask them (kindly) to gove you a lesson
• go dancing. for Prom one year my friend went on a day date and they went and learned how to do a dance and then at the actual prom they did the fun dance they learned. I'm not saying thats the only time you can do that but its a fun idea.

Wedding Planner

This would be the funniest/funnest thing ever to do!!

first you get a friend and you set each other up with a blind date. then go around pretending to be engaged. and plan your wedding, go pick out a ring, find the perfect colors. and mostly be silly and have fun!!

and its important to go to places and announce that you are engaged. show off your rings!!! hold hands as you're walking through....wherever you're walking around at.

The whole point of the blind date is so it wont be as awkward. and you can be as goofy as you want.

point is....this is a freakishly fun date!! haven't tried it out but......its fun! let us know how it goes because this seems like fun!

Remember Doing This? Now its a Date!!!

alright, believe it or not but forts are almost always fun! so the idea is that you make a fort out of blankets, pillows, sheets....anything really.

I remember one fort my dad made this one time. we had this wire in the walls from Christmas for stringing lights so he hung sheets on it and held them down with pillows and it was like the best fort that was ever made!!

Back to the idea. so you make really cool forts and wage a war against each other with paper airplanes. and because it's a group date (right? those are funner anyway) it could be guy against girls.

and I guess since there sort of has to be a winner...not really but it could make it interesting.....after a certain amount of time the side with the most paper airplanes in their fort area looses. if you don't want it to be a competition...just have fun!

Then after that.....watch Disney movies!!!! yay for Disney!!!.....like Mulan, or Tarzan or Toy Story, or Tangled....or Megamind!!!!! I love that one; actually I love all of them. And that would be the best thing ever!!

Bookstore Date

Just for fun, because I think this would be rather amusing and fun, go to a books store...the only one I can think of is Borders...but that's okay. anyway!!! You make notes in the book for future readers.....not ON the book because you could possibly get kicked out, silly you...  use post-its!! do you have any idea how fun those things are? If not......trust me (I'm The Doctor) Post-its are amazing!!

Fun Date.....with Balloons

so i saw this thing and it looks so fun!!! someone made balloon ninjas!!! i think that would be the funnest date!! going outside or something and pretending to kill balloons. like have a fake sword with thumbtacks taped to it and then you attack the balloons and.....boom! they pop and you win.

well I dont know about you but dates are fun....in theory. personally I think dates are a big scheme that boys came up with to give us extra incentive to go out with them. because to me dates are actually like unicorns...mythical, a fantasy, something I dream about having.


anyway enough about my pathetic social life. I had a brilliant idea....(I do have them sometimes OK?!) I thought it would be fun to have a photo shoot date. like get a bunch of fun props and just go crazy! possibly (if you want to be a weirdo) you could drive around looking for good spots and when you find one just start snapping....which might be a little strange because some of the good places might be in peoples yards.


anyway I think that would be insanely fun!! so hint hint! do something fun!

Why I Hate the Word Hot.

this word just really bugs me. as you can see above there are so many other things to call someone. i think "hot" is slightly degrading because its like "i cant think of a different word so i'll just use this one...you're not actually important enough for me to think hard enough of a different word to describe you"

i know it seems stupid but i think that hot is just a stupid word used to describe food. "don't eat that its hot" so i'm sorry but i don't want to be referred to as something not to eat. i just think there are so many other words to use. so many ways to let a girl know how beautiful they are.

Dating With Quarters

So my school recently had MORP/Sadie Hawkins. my friends went and they played this game called BIGGER OR BETTER. its a game. (duh I told you that....hope you were paying attention) Anyway..you start with a quarter. then you go to peoples houses (preferably ones you know cuz it would be wierd to go to a strangers house and ask for something better than a quarter.) Anyway...you go to peoples house and ask them if they have something bigger or better than a quarter...or whatever you got...

For Example (and this did Happen no joke, no lies (why would I lie to you?))

My friends group date started with a quarter. they went to a house and they got a dollar in exchange for their quarter. then they went to another house and got a book in exchange for the dollar. they went to another house and the people who lived there had their parents over. the parents told my friends that there were two TVs in the garage and they could pick one!!!

How To: Make a Mustache Pillow

So this past few weeks i've been dying for a mustache pillow! they are SO adorable but super expensive! So i decided to make my own and show you how i did it for super cheap and super easy:}D (haha can you tell thats a mustache smiley?)


You will need:

2 pillow cases (i got mine at walmart for about $2.5o each)

cut out of half a mustache the size of your choice.

Either free hand your mustache. I taped 2 pieces of copy paper together then drew half of mustache to desired size. I recommend doing this. It's way easier than the next option. Take a try at it...you don't have to be a artist to sketch this. Then you have your guide.

If you don't feel comfortable free handing it you can google mustache templates and take your pick, print it, blow it up to the size you want.

Fabric paint or if you dont have any than you can use the any paint color you want and mix it in with some textile medium. I used some black acrylic paint and mixed it with the Medium.

Then trace the outline of your mustache onto your pillow

Now go ahead and paint your pillow!:D

And there you go! Your very own cute mustache pillow!

All Tied Up

We did this as an activity (not a date, but I still think it would be kind of funny.)


We were tied to each other and had to eat ice cream sundaes. I would recommend using a bandanna as a tie though because we used this thin rope and it hurt a lot. I would also recommend possibly not doing this as a first date or make sure they are a good sport because its really hard to eat tied to anyone and you might drip on your clothes.

Hello my fireflies and frenchfries friends! We will be posting the mustache pillow tutorial here very soon, sorry we haven't yet the computer is being very ridiculous:/

Anyways, watch this video! It is very graphic so if you get queasy or very easily sick you might not want to, but this video has inspired me to never text and drive, i turn my phone on silent while im driving most times or i'll keep it away from me so i won't get tempted to get distracted. Driving can be very dangerous so you NEED to stay focused on the road. Not only are you driving for yourself but you are having to watch out for others driving as well. Accidents can happen at anytime at anyplace, nobody is invisible on the road, i know that we all think we are or that that won't happen to us but we really aren't invisible and it CAN happen to us. I urge you to please keep both hands on the wheel, eyes on the road,not on the sexy dude or dudette or other interesting distraction and be aware of whats going on around you, don't get upset while your driving if you need to talk to someone or turn around to fix something in the backseat pull over. Please help keep the road safe nobody wants to die and you don't want to be the reason why someone ends up dieing! Lets make driving as safe as possible.

Ladies get ready for the greatest amazing week ever at the Time To Blossom Conference!  Registration is going on now so hurry to register. This is a super amazing week filled with great speakers, education on  girl stuff, super fun projects and new friends. EFY  is great but the difference is here girls get to be  girls, no competition for boys and  a week learning what makes us unique and special Daughters of our Heavenly Father. Drawing on the Table

So you know how your mom always said not to draw on the table? well tonight its OK.

This was a pretty fun date I went on and it's a good opportunity to show off your drawing skills (rock those stick figures yah!)

We had tables set up with brown butcher paper. We sat down in different groups and went to town with the crayons. I had lots of fun just drawing whatever came to my mind.

Then after we finished our drawings we went and ate dinner. We had Hawiann Haystacks. this is a super easy meal that requires very little clean up (this is always a bonus for me. I hate cleaning with the burning fiery passion of a thousand suns. not even joking right now hate it!)

 

We got judged to see who had the cool drawings on our table cloth. Our table won by the way not because of me though ( i did have a bunch of cool heart chains) but because this one guy in our group drew a Batman logo with a dragon on it.

How to become more outgoing

Contrary to belief you don't need confidence to be outgoing. If you are somewhat shy or intoverted than to be more outgoing is a good step to self-improvement. Now if you want to become more outgoing you can follow these simple steps:

• You can start with people you know. Make eye contact, small talk and ask questions with friends you're comfortable with.




• Smile at people. Make it an effort to smile at least one person a day, it can be anybody. The more you do it the more comfortable you will be and it'll seem more instinctive. Its really easy to smile at someone as soon as they walk into the same room as you or when you walk into a room because its simply a friendly greeting and it doesn't seem random.




• Find people who share the same interests as you. Join a club or a sport! Conversations are easier with people who share the same passions as you.




• Give a compliment, if you see something you like share it! Share your positive comments it makes you look like a friendly person and you might get some compliments back(:




• If you're shy and seem to avoid tasks such as phone calls or knocking on doors practice what you're going to say infront of a mirror after all, Practice makes perfect!




• Believe in yourself because what you have to say is valuable! Once you believe that it'll be easier to speak your mind

Build your Confidence

According to the Dove self esteem campaign almost three-quarters of girls admit to feeling pressure to be beautiful, and it can hold us back from realizing our full potential and can hinder our confidence level.

Confidence in our selves don't just come from when our moms or friends say "Your beautiful just for being you" or "you can do it, just be confident"? However to a person who doesn't feel confident or beautiful this advice is absolutely ridiculous. Here is some advice to try to help improve your level of confidence.




1.When you wake up go to the bathroom, smile in the mirror and compliment yourself. This helps start out your day in a good way. Once you feel good about yourself nothing else can make you feel insecure.


2.Be a front seater- Most people sit in back because they are a fraid of being noticed. Sit in the front so you can get over this fear.


3.Make eye contact-it's kinda creepy and its often intimidating but helps

4.Gratitude- Set aside time each day to make a mental list of everything you have to be greatful for.

5. Good Posture- The way a person carries themselves tells how that person feels. Walk a little faster- people who show superior confidence walk faster.

6. Practice speaking up-people tend not to speak up because they are afraid of people judging them. Generally people are more accepting and they deal with that very fear also. Make an effort to speak up at least once in discussions.

7.Compliment others- Praise others and refuse to engage in backstabbing gossip in the process you will become well liked and build confidence in others and yourself. By looking for the best in others, you bring out the best in yourself.

8. SMILE BIG!!! :D

9. Don't bash on your body. We all have done it and it needs to stop. It drags down our mood when we focus on our problem areas.

10. And i know what you wear isn't exactly important but it does normally effect our mood. Always wear something that makes you feel good, not what you think your crush or somebody will think is cute, but what you feel happy, strong and beautiful in!

11. Also eat right and excersise!

A Weird (yet interesting) Date

Select several different restaurants in town....and have a progressive meal. Order drinks at one and appetizer at another, somewhere else for your main course and last choose a different one for dessert. this would be so much fun. All the people working would be totally blown away at how strange you were...

if you want to be funny...whenever I got out with my neighbor she always calls the server by their first name. Her daughter was so embarrassed...I couldn't stop laughing. but that's just me. you dont have to but by the time that meal was over my stomach hurt because I had been laughing so hard

Choices

Smart Goals

2011 is finally over and we're starting a brand new year!   A lot of people start out the New Year setting goals for themselves. When setting goals you have to be SMART about it. Poorly written goals use words like:

• Try
• could
• should
• might
• hope
• attempt
• maybe
• Soon
• in a few months
• by the end of the year

To write your goals you can use S.M.A.R.T as a guideline.This standing for:

• S-Specific
• M-Measurable
• A-Attainable
• R-Realistic
• T- Time bound

Specific
The first term means you have to make your goal clear tells you what is EXACTLY is expected, why its important, who is involved, where its going to happen and which attributes are important.
Specific goals will usually answer the 6 'W' questions:

• Who-Who is involved?
• What-What do you want to accomplish?
• Where-Identify a location
• When-Make a time frame
• Which-Identify requirements
• Why-spefici reasons or benefits of accomplishing a goal

Not specific would be like:
I want to get grades.
I will get in shape.

A specific goal could be:
I want to get a 90% in Math by 2nd Quarter.
I will Join a health club this month and workout 3 days a week.

Measurable
This is second term establishes concrete criteria for measuring progress toward the attainment of your goal.(No you do not need a ruler for this) :)  If your goal is not measurable then it is not possible to tell if you are making progress toward successful completion. Measuring your progress is supposed to help you stay on track, reach target dates, and get achievment.
A measurable goal will normaly answer these questions:

• How much?
• How many?
• How do you know you've completed it?

Attainable
When you identify goals that are most important to you, you find ways to make them come true. You develop the attitudes, abilities and skills to help you become closer to that goal. You start seeing more opportunities to acheive them. You can obtain any goal if you have a plan. A goal without a plan is just a wish. What are you going to do about it? WHat is your plan? Without a plan you goal will stay a wish. If you want to attain your goals write them down somewhere so you can see them everyday such as your bathroom mirror or on the fridge.


Realistic
Your goals need to be realistic nothing like "i want to lift 80lbs in one day" when you can barely lift 20lbs. Thats like saying "I want a fairy Godmother to clean my room." To be realistic you have to find goals that you are willing and able to achieve, but a goal can be high and realistic.

Time Bound
You need to set a date to have your goal done by otherwise you may procastinate and put it off. Someday won't work, but if you put in a date like July 2nd then you've set your unconscious mind in motion making you work for that goal.

To achieve your goals you also need to Desire them. How do we put our hope into action?

• Desire SMART goals
• Are your goals righteous? ( acting in an upright moral way or virteous)
• Commitment (when you commit you will eliminate most problems)
• Spend you energy and time doing it (Practice self discipline, write down bad habits and stop them)
• Faith

Also remember when setting goals don't try to set goals that aren't you to be like everybody else.

Be the 1st rate version of yourself not a 2nd rate of somebody else.

Chocolate Chip Treasure Hunt

This is a very fun date activity (I think so anyway, it sounds fun.)so first you get a date then you go to people's houses and ask them for ingredients to a chocolate chip recipe. Tell them you will bring them some of the finished product to convince them if they are kind of hesitant...and it would be cool to show off you new found culinary skills. then you eat the cookies with you date...group.

My Favorite Cookie Recipe

Ingredients

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1teaspoon salt

1 cup (2sticks) butter, softened

3/4 cup granulated sugar

3/4 cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 large eggs

2 cups (12 oz pkg) chocolate chips (I found out its super yummy if you do half milk and half semi sweet chocolate chips)

1cup chopped nuts (optional..I never put any in....they are gross)

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees

Combine flour, baking soda and salt in a small bowl. beat butter, granulated and brown sugar and vanilla in a large mixer bowl until creamy. add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. gradually beat in flour mixture. stir in chocolate chips and nuts if you ant them...its not required but the chocolate is.drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.

bake 9-11 minutes or until golden brown. cool on baking sheets ( I never do this...I like eating them right out of the oven all soft and the chocolate is still melty...yummmmm) remove from the wire racks and cool compleatly (unless your me and already ate the cookies so you should just ignore the last direction)

now you have a fun date and yummy cookies!!
